Privacy policy

Backtalk (“we”) runs this store and is responsible for your personal information. This policy explains what we collect and why.
What we collect
- Order details you give at checkout: name, email, phone number, shipping and billing address.
- Payment details are entered on Stripe's secure checkout. We never see or store your full card number.
- Basic technical data your browser sends (like IP address) in server logs, kept for security.
Why we use it
- To process, ship and track your order, and to send order emails.
- To answer your questions and handle returns.
- To prevent fraud and abuse, and to meet legal and tax obligations.
Our legal reasons
- To perform our contract with you: processing, shipping and supporting your order.
- To meet legal obligations: tax and accounting records.
- Our legitimate interest in keeping the store secure and preventing fraud and abuse.
Who we share it with
Only the services needed to run the store and fulfill your order: Stripe (payments), our email provider (order emails), Cloudflare (security checks against automated abuse), our fulfillment partner and shipping carriers (your name, address and phone, to deliver the package). Some of them process data in other countries: Stripe, our email provider and Cloudflare in the United States and elsewhere, and our fulfillment partner, which ships from its warehouse overseas, receives what it needs to deliver your package. Where the law requires it, these transfers rely on the providers' standard contractual safeguards. We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it for targeted advertising.
Cookies and storage
The store uses no advertising or analytics cookies. When you open checkout we set one strictly necessary cookie that links your browser to that checkout, so only you see your order confirmation; it expires after a day. Your browser also keeps two small preferences on your device (whether moving banners and button sounds are on), which are never sent to us. Stripe sets cookies on its checkout pages, and Cloudflare may on the order tracking page, to prevent fraud.
Anonymous counters
To see which parts of the page work, the store counts events such as a page view or a click on Buy now, as plain daily totals. There are no cookies, no visitor IDs and no third party behind this, and nothing in the totals can be traced to you. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, nothing is counted.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires (up to 10 years for some records). Support emails are deleted once they no longer matter for an order. Server logs are kept for a short time for security.
Do Not Track
We don't track you across other websites, so a browser Do-Not-Track signal changes nothing here. A Global Privacy Control signal also turns off the anonymous counters above.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, and California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know and to delete. Depending on where you live you may also object to some uses, or ask for a copy in a portable format. Email hello@getbacktalk.com and we'll respond within 30 days. If you think we got it wrong, you can also complain to your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
Children
This store isn't meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
